Hi
I just bought a Holux-62AS from Eastgear in Comex show last Saturday, after trying few days, as compare to my existing old Garmin 205, I am very upset the Holux performance.
Following is few points I notice;
1) Slow log-in and locate the GPS, if I got to drive out from the underground carpark . Its take minutes to search and log-onto the GPS (Garmin is within seconds!!)
2) Re-route, its take minutes to re-route and worse, the system will occassionaly hang there....window error message will prompt!!! (something like NavIQ.exe encounter error, window will shut down)
3) Wrong indication, certain road, no lane in the right, but it keep asking me to turn right.
4) Funny direction, example, I coming down from Thomson to Japanese Association, after MacRitchie Reservoir, suppose going straight and turn left (after across PIE) will reach...
instead, its ask me to turn to PIE-changi, then using Bukit Timah road...????
5) I think the map is not updated, can't locate MBS (Mariner Bay Sand)...where can I get the updated map from MFM?
I used to update map for my Garmin from MFM.....
6) The GPS will easily lost-log, the sound of GPS lock, lost is very irritiating....
7) In Eastgear web, can't find the Holux-62AS infomation, is it equavalent to 62 Pro or other model? I guess is same as 62 Pro.
8) For the map, the file name will be xxx.MAP,
I try download the map but is in X3 format.......
I am not sure is it the hard ware or the firmware or the Map problem...but it is very unpleasant to use as far as I am concern............
Have wrote to EastGear but no reply from them so far.
I feel like returning the unit and using back my old Garmin again.
Any expert here can advise?
Thanks in advance
