5800 with GMXT should not be using the internet to acquire your location, as far as I know. Have you already acquired Sat lock before doing routing navigation?
Current Device: LG G2 Android 4.4.2
Previous Devices: HTC HD2 with WM6.5 and Android 2.3.5
Previous Devices: HTC Touch Diamond 2 PDA Phone (288MB RAM) with WM6.5

I am still puzzled by your statement.

As in the previous post by Bro RM1, you dont need internet or 3G to navigate. The device's GPS funtion does not use Internet or 3G to navigate. I have Quick GPS that uses the telecommunication line to update the satellite locations in order to assist in faster satellite lock but it is not used at all during navigation. So the server/access points are immaterial.

The device has a built-in GPS chip-set that will be used by the Navigation software. The GPS circuitry in the device will catch a signal beamed from the many satellite hovering in the outer atmosphere, to obtain exact location information. No internet or 3G or server, access points involved.

will wifi causes it to be unable to calculate the route?
bcz in my hostel area,it can't calculate the route, but when i'm at outside of my hostel area, it will become fine.
why?

i don't think the signal is blocked. i never encounter this problem before.in the pass, even in my bedroom, it is still able to calculate the route

Maybe same reason as this: viewtopic.php?p=78462#p78462

Is there any disconnected routable trail nearby the area when GMXT was unable to calculate the route?

Sorry to disturb, possibilities for the WIFI transmission to interrupt your GPS receiption is high, because they are in the same frequency band (UHF- 300Mhz - 3Ghz) especially for the long range(extended range) WIFI where as it's produce high power transmission. For the Gps signal it's had a long journey from atmosphere and became weak when it's absorb by GPS antenna. Pls refer to http://media-2.web.britannica.com/eb-media/21/4621-004-A7C0178A.gif

Hi guys, I am currently using 255w. When I try to search using postal in address, is there a way to program the unit to permanently default to Singapore? I need to manually select Singapore each time in order to go into the postal code search mode. Mine is the localised 255w. Thks.
