Have you completed the process where you select your country/location.

I tried to add the city navigator australia by using a SD card with a garmin folder and gmapsupp inside but when i try the map became white with the car icon and the POI only spell name and phone numbers. I already disabled every map except the australia one.

Nuvi 205 do not have much memory for multiple maps. Delete all but one that you use.

After hard reset have you got satellite lock ? Otherwise it will default to USA and India is nearer than Malaysia ...

how to lock satellite? sorry im noob.

During a hard reset, the device will prompt you to put in the basic settings like as if you first take it out of the box and switch it on for the first time. One of the settings is your locality (in the form of a country). I dont remember the rest. I think this location setting may have a bearing on your problem.

Bring your Nuvi outside to the clear blue sky and power up. Wait until it says on top of screen, READY FOR NAVIGATION

Then do the search. Nuvi search algorithm starts from where you are and searches in an outwards direction till it finds the POI / Address.

Bro chiet, I recommend you google for sites that provide a tutorial on basic Nuvi usage and to understand the terminology use. You will need the basic to maximize the features of your unit.

the satellite already show full green bar. but just when i press "near..." then key in sri damansara but the result will show sri something else which is a india place. this is the prob i face.
