You combine unlimited number of maps into a Garmin-recognizable map file. The limit is your storage capacity. Garmin recognizes different map file names depending on models.

Garmin Nuvi 1300 & 1400 series
No limit to the number of map files. File extension needs to be .img and should be placed under the Map folder.

Garmin Nuvi 200, 600, 700 series + nuvifone G60
Internal memory (the device itself) - gmapoem.img, gmapprom.img, gmapprom1.img, gmapsupp.img
SD or microSD card - gmapsupp.img

Garmin Nuvi 300 series
gmapoem.img, gmapprom.img, gmapprom1.img, gmapsupp.img

GPSMAP 60 & 76 series, Colorado & Oregon
gmapsupp.img

Garmin Que
gmapsupp.img

Garmin MobileXT
gmapsupp.img, gmapsup2.img

To combine several maps into a Garmin-recognizable map file, use Gmaptool or upload your maps using Mapsource.

Sorry for a noob question..
I was trying to load 2 maps in my garmin. Wanna ask why after I saved the gmapsupp.img file into the sd card and at the same time having the other gmapsupp in my internal memory (nuvi 205), the device not able to read the map at the sd card? :-?

Appreciate if someone out there can enlighten me. Thanks in advance. :ko:

Did you create a folder called Garmin in your SD card and place the Gmapsupp.img into it?... cheers!

Thanks for your prompt response.
No.. I didn't create any files in my sd card's drive. Should I create the garmin folder in that drive? Can I have more than 2 maps? As i know that all the maps have to be named as gmapsupp.img, am i right?
