Re: Singapore - Feedback (Q1 2010)
Hi bro Ong,
Not sure if this is an error.
I am seeing alot of doubles when I activate "Find Nearest Places" in Mapsource.
The ERP icon also seems to show an icon of a couple with hand in hand; strange (Category : Autoservices - according to properties). Wonder if I am the only one seeing this.
Please see attachments.

No problem, that are for custom icons. - OngCC

Bro 255W, this is not the first time we see feedback from members of not being able to route to a certain destination and from what I have seen in all such cases, the destinations were surrounded by non-routable trails. Likewise, your Yishun Park destination is also surrounded by many non-routable pedestrian trails. Obviously, you can't drive into trails that are meant for pedestrians, can you? Try to select your ending point at any point on a routable road nearest to your destination and you will not face the same problem again.
Someone recently posted a thread about the same problem navigating to Beach Cabana. Read this. Thank you.

Bro Redstorm, if you use Mapsource to route, you'll obviously see that it is not routable because it gives a straight line… But if you are using GPS to route, it will still calculate and give you a wrong route without even you knowing that it is wrong… This morning when I try to route to Yishun Park, I did not follow the way given by GPS because I know it is showing me a wrong direction. I then quickly change to the default NT map in my GPS and immediately it is giving me the correct route. But for people who are not familiar with the road, they will just follow blindly and it will route them to no where…
Furthermore, I’ve tried simulating the same route in Mapsource using MSM and NT without any problem, so I’m 100% confident that Bro OngCC will be able to resolve this problem in MFM.

I think you can help Bro OngCC to solve this problem. Any carpark for this park?

No point setting the park as destination if you can't park there.

Andrews Avenue (red line) is missing in the map. It is supposed to join to Jalan Mempurong and leads to Bottle Tree at the end of the road.

Unfortunately, there's no car park for the park itself, but we can easily find HDB car park nearby. I believe not all POI has car parks, but that does not mean we cannot set it as destination, right? Routing to the entrance is good enough if we were to pickup or drop off someone. If we really need to find a car park, we can always search for the nearest car park using the POI search once we reach there… FYI, I've parked at block 661, the nearest I can find.
The main point here is that, when searching for POI using GPS on the road, we should have the confident that once we search for a POI, eg. Yishun Park, and press [Go], we would trust that the GPS will bring us to the place accurately. What good is a POI if it is not routable? Defeat the whole purpose of searching by POI, right?
The route that I’ve shown using another map is more than sufficient to bring someone, like me (first time there), to the park accurately without any hassle.

Routing error
From Lower Pierce Reservoir car park to AMK Ave 1, the route was to go in opp direction on Old Upp Thomson Road into Ave 1 and then turn to Ave 3
