I understand your problem. I have encountered such problem of illogical routing before (the routing took me one big, big merry go round Bedok Reservior including going over the water) and it turned out to be an error in the map. Sometimes, I also find that such illogical routing can occur if your start or end point is not near a road.

If you can give us the exact start and end point (as in name of POI or building), it is easier for us to simulate your exact route and verify your problem.

thanks . I thought i was the only one having this problem...
my start point is N1 27.053 E103 47.624 woodlands industrial park E5 and end point is N1 18.095 E103 54.906 Beach Cabana..

Hope this is helpful .

The error arises because your destination (Beach Cabana) is situated next to a pedestrian trail which is non-routable. You will never be able to drive onto the pedestrian trail, can you? The nearest routable waypoint is the carpark (ECP CP C3) next to it and you should select it as your destination instead of Beach Cabana. This is a common problem that could happen when you select a destination that is surrounded by non-routable trails.

The error arises because your destination (Beach Cabana) is situated next to a pedestrian trail which is non-routable. You will never be able to drive onto the pedestrian trail, can you? You still need to park your car and this is the nearest route waypoint that your Nuvi can bring you to and you should select the carpark next to Beach Cabana as your destination instead.

Well, we have dealt with a few such problems before and I personally have had such an encounter. No worries, we learnt something new everyday. Cheers!

My nuvi1250 (from Aus) did not agree so well with the new map =( basically nothing shows up. when i try to simulate a route from point A to point B, it just asked me to go straight to my destination. however i should mention that my nuvi1250 worked well with my last downloaded map (281209).

Also, when i tried the new map on my GMXT (5.00.30w), i tried to select River Valley Close (which is a road) and then the next screen showed that the address is somewhere in KL. it was really bizarre because this address in KL did not even resemble river valley at all.

the new map works fine on my 255w. (despite no lane-assist/JCV) =)

Hello everyone, I'm using Nuvi 205 and my question is, during navigation the mapscale can only maximised to 50meter. Is this normal? I would prefer if it can go to 20meter especially places where the junctions/turns are close to one another.
Cheers,

Hi, I have d/l and installed the latest MFM-Garmin 100405. But I still can't searched location using the new SG Postal Code. It only prompted to enter Blk & address.

Pl advice.

Thanks

Bro Franklkk, our Postal Code is an on-going project. What postal code # you cannot find ? Please post here for verification if it exist in our database.

The SOP for Postal Code search for MFM is

MainMenu - WhereTo - Address - ChangeCountry - Select Singapore - SearchAll - Enter House Number ( leave blank, press Done ) - Enter Street ( key in Postal Code ) - if postal code is already embedded in Map, it will appear, else it will say NotFound.

If not available, please feedback postal code in our feedback section so we can update it in map.

Thanks for your adivice. I will try it out & feedback.

I believe this limited by the Nuvi firmware.

Hi Bro mdsani - I think you have a point there. Like what Bro silverbeauty said, the Nuvi 205 may be limited by its firmware and also the screen size. I also own a Garmni 205 cos I like its small and squarish size. So, when generating a gmapsupp.img map, I usually check "Exclude the polygons" so as not to "cramp" the already small screen
