Oregon series really make me "wet"... but my finance minister still refuse to make any further fund approval.

However, I am still a bit "worry" with Oregon chipset, which the Big G choose to use MTK instead of SIRF chipset.

Does anyone know how to turn off the speed limit warning for the Oregon? In the nuvi, I can turn off the proximity alerts but I can't find a similar feature in the Oregon.

The other thing is that I have several experience when I was looking at the Elevation Plot on my Oregon while travelling along the N-S highway. This feature will show you the elevation profile of the road as you move along the highway. However, on several occasions, the unit will just turn off by itself after about 15 to 20 mins. I wonder why? :ko:

Bro Fauzee,

Yes, I did remove the speed trap POIs as I think this triggers the alerts. I kept the other POIs as these were useful like the Rest Stop Areas, etc. I notice that that alerts are so much less frequent now. Previously, there would be 3 alerts for a short stretch of road with a 40 kmph sign. However, it is a pity that I can't turn off the alert on the Oregon. Typical Garmin design, put in one or two features in a model but not in the others. I can't believe that, for the Oregon, there is no day/night mode when it is so common in the 60 CSx and the Nuvis.

I just received my Oregon 400t which is a refurbished unit that I bought from US. Bought off eBay for US$299.99 with free shipping to my friend's home in Arizona, USA. He just passed the Oregon to me last nite. Software version was 3.20 Registed with Garmin and checked that software version 3.60 was availabelf for the Oregon 400t, Upgraded and loaded in the latest MFM-100308 map and tested the unit on my way to work this morning. The unit is worked perfectly and I am very happy with the unit.

Cheers !!

According to garmin they have discontinue the oregon 300  what a short live 1 year old only than dai liao

Thank you for contacting Garmin Europe.

Thank you for your email i will be happy to help with this.

The Oregon 300/400T have been discontinued in the sense of not being
manufactured any longer. These have been replaced with the Oregon
450/450t models https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?cID=145&pID=63350
Even though they are discontinued we will still offer support for them.

We are still currently waiting on a new release of software which will
help with the issue which you mention. We don't have anytime release
dates as yet.

Hope this helps.

If there is anything else I can help you with then please let me know.

Kind regards,
