changing img to mapsource file.

dear members,

can someone pls explain or direct me to the relevant discussion on the above and how they work together?
ive been trying to convert an map img. pls help me out as i want to be able to do it on my own.

Although it's been discussed previously in this topic, the steps were not explained clearly, so here goes:

1. First you need to download and install GMapTool and cGPSmapper (both are free).
2. At GMapTool Options page, point to "cgpsmapper.exe" (refer image below).
   
3. At Files page add IMG file.
4. At Split page, browse and select folder to split files to, select "Create: files for Mapsource", tick "Compile preview map", click "Split all".
5. IMG should have been successfully split with all necessary files saved at the selected folder (check log for errors, if any).
6. Browse to split folder and run "install.bat" (and follow the instruction to proceed with installation) to install mapset into Mapsource. Once installed, the folder/files should not be moved/deleted. Later if needs to be uninstalled, run "uninstall.bat".

Note:

• However, by using this method, "Find Places" feature (in Mapsource) will be disabled, and only "Find Nearest Places" (for POIs) would work when using this mapset.
• If you are using a locked IMG file (which I assume is associated with a legit unlock code), the same unlock code for device needs to be used in Mapsource to unlock the mapset.

this is what i got after splitting:

Write map I050ADB1 -> 05287345.img, file 27648, header 1600h, block 512
Write map I050AFCD -> 05287885.img, file 16646144, header 4000h, block 4096
Write map I050AFCE -> 05287886.img, file 12763136, header 3000h, block 4096
Write map I050AFCF -> 05287887.img, file 18624512, header 4000h, block 4096
Write map I050AFD0 -> 05287888.img, file 10825728, header 3000h, block 4096

Multiple products in img, creating TDB aborted, try opion -f.

There were errors, result is faulty.

is it the map?

At Split page, specify FID and PID (tick "Set mapset FID" first). For this IMG, try FID=57 PID=1. Even if there're warnings (not errors) in Log, just continue with installation.

from the gmaptool it looks ok. no errors this time.
but when i run the batch file, it says access is denied. is there anything that im missing here?
