After following the instructions, there are some things which I tried to do, but my garmin failed to load, or more like its at the loading maps screen:
If Yes, please select your Nuvi drive {"F:" or "G:"}. Map must save within the "Garmin" folder. For example, "F:\Garmin"
P/S: Garmin 1xxx series the "gmapsupp.img" can be change to any names as you like and put in your's device drive {"F:" or "G:"} "Map" folder.
It takes a while to transfer your map into your Nuvi or SD card.
For this option, I did try to rename mfm from gmapsupp to Malaysiamaps, but that did not make my garmin responsive at all.
As far as I know, there are 3 gmapsupp files on it.
One in "Garmin" Folder, the other in "Map" folder. I have no idea which is the europe maps, and which is the malaysia maps. All I can tell is that the one in "map" folder is 83.3mb.
The two files in "Garmin" folder (both gmapsupp in different folders), one is 83.3mb, and the other is in a "UK" subfolder which I made which is 181 mb.
In my Garmin map settings, I see there are two MapSet maps (which are the mfm maps, and one Europe map. I know for a fact that the map generated by mfm is 86.1mb but when I use the mapsource, I get 86.1mb. This is the file size generated when using the mfm installer.
So, what happend was, I did reinstall mfm, but the map size remains at 83.3mb using the mapsource program and I have no clue where the 86mb is as I tried to copy it renaming it into a different name, but that just caused my garmin to just hang at the intro screen.
Could you just copy paste the mfm generated file 86.1mb file directly into the "Map" or "Garmin" folder without using Mapsource?
As far as I can tell, you only need to use mapsource to select things you want or don't want to include to be uploaded into the nuvi. So, just copy it direct to the "Garmin" or "Map" folder?Correct me if I am wrong.
