aikliang wrote:err... how come the mfm map installation is different from mine? I don't get the portion that says to install the contour map.
What I do is that after downloading, I will run the installer up to the point where it has the option to either install for mapsource or for nuvi/mobile/etc. I choose mapsource, final screen ask if I want to create gmapsup.img, I press no. Installation complete.
Open mapsource, check mapset, use the map tool to highlight and the map is there. I then have the choice to delete whichever mapset I want or don't need...

That's exactly what I did but I created gmapsupp.img to copy to mSD. And voila... all's working fine. Mapsource v6.13.7 works beautifully. BTW, do you install MFM-SRTM in your Garmin Folder?

There's no contour map to install.
Mapsource didn't have problem.
could it be the OS that causing it? I am using WinXP SP3 Home Edition with v6.15.7sobamy wrote:kb27 wrote:I just download from SG (chaicka) mirror. Using Mapsource 6.13.7.

This is quite mysterious - MFM-Garmin-100517.exe. Some bros encounter problems with their Mapsource regardless of versions, and to some the latest maps work beautifully. I think we have to wait for Bro OngCC to solve this mystery

actually, if you are downloading for mapsource, you can choose which map tiles you want and then transfer/send to device. Normally, I will remove all the contours, polygons, east malaysia and thailand map tiles. Total size will be about 55 - 60 MB. I then transfer to my GMXT on my PDA. For my GMPC, I will leave out the contour map tiles and install the rest.
