Re: Nokia 5800 Change new memory card will not detect gps..

Bro,

GMXT on Symbian phone must use Garmin Bluetooth receiver to run. The reason your old SD can run using the attached GPS is the crack installation. Your new SD card does not have the crack and will not support the internal GPS. We do not discuss crack in this site... sorry no help.

Unfortunately there's nothing that can be repaired in this case,, I've used nokia 5800 for almost a year myself, and the longer one uses it the worse it gets  . GPS (and even wi-fi) in 5800 is EXTREMELY weak ! Like say 5-10 times weaker than on the cheapest Garmin Nuvi ! if u get what i'm trying to compare  now i never bother using it for gps(unless i've got @ least 20min to spare to get sat'fix, and sure not to be near tall buildings etc.), just use it like phone lo however cruel it sounds.. i use nuvi 2 navigate .

A 5800 paired with a Holux M1000 works even better than any Nuvi I have seen... While the Nuvis (more than one) are dead in the center of KL town (between high rise) the Holux/5800 is still showing the way.... You can't pair your Nuvi to a Holux can you?.... ... Finding the right stuff to do the right job is important.... having this combination is God send in a traffic jam in downtown KL.
