real or not? i charge using htc charger, and is just pirated htc charger, not original htc charger(just rm20 with 6month warranty)~! i charge so many times already, nvr kabooom~!

check the output voltage and amp. It should be 5V 1A.

Just to share my experiences. Here is how I charges my nuvi 755T.

1) Orignal garmin gtm20 car charger

2) My Thinkpad T61 laptop. Hint:: Use "Safely Remove Hardware" in Windows or eject command in UNIX. The great feature about Thinkpad, is it able to deliver power to USB, EVEN, I poweroff the laptop, BUT not the power supply

3) Motorola ORIGINAL Charger: I have 2 of them, one with 500 mA and 850 mA rating. To put in charging mode,
a) Plug in the mini usb. Wait until it finished booting, loading maps and in Mass Storage Mode.
b) Unplug the usb, and wait until it boot untul you can see you device model at the bottom of the screen. During this point, quickly insert the mini usb power back, and your device should be able to used as usual. You can switch off your nuvi and it should be in charging mode.

4) Emergency Solar charger : Repeat step 3a and 3b

I had several bad experiences with MP4 USB charger, especialy the one with flippable power pin. All the USB chargers with this type were exploded during charging my MP4. And definitely will not charge my nuvi with this type of charger.

i just bought my 205W from US. It says SW ver 2.60, nuvi 205W S V6 2GB.

I have heard alot of pros and cons about upgrading SW. Some ppl say don't upgrade, else will lose some useful feature like showing POI on navigating mode, etc. Or some ppl facing problem after upgrading but unfortunately cannot downgrade (which i dunno what the problem the user is facing after upgrading).

While some ppl recommend to upgrade to fix some bug or error.

I'm in dilemma right now. Should i upgrade or not? Any pros and cons? Can i downgrade my SW if i don't like the new updates?

If to upgrade, should i use webupdater or download the installer from Garmin website?

well, i been using 200W before, notice that, when using a normal USB cable for charging in the car by using Iphone charger adapter, it can only doing the charging process, but can't navigate.

but as for the 205W,i can use the normal USB cable with Iphone charger adapter to navigate while charging, and i don't have to use the original charger also can use the garmin navigation.

and i can also use the Iphone home charging wall plug + USB cable to charge while by the way browsing the map for my new 205W ,but not for the 200W model.
