Hello to all members. Tubik here and I just got myself a used 6110 to use for my coming trip to Singapore. After hours of trying, I finally managed to install GMXT and all the neccessary files. The only problem that I have is that when I want to set map, 'no removable maps found' comes out.

I downloaded the latest map and usintg the MFM generator to install into the card but the problem still persists. Hopefully someone will help me on this as I've tried searching but couldn't find the right solution.

Thanks in advance.

  1. Verify whether GMAPSUPP.IMG is available at data card:\Garmin folder.
  2. In GMXT, at Tools > Manage My Data > Map Sets, select any Detailed Maps and check the header, and/or select Mapsource (if available), and verify that maps are enabled (ticked).
  3. Make sure GMXT is able to get GPS fix and that GPS location is somewhere within the map's coverage. If your location is not anywhere within the map's coverage, usually you need to simulate the GPS location (to a location within the map's coverage, read more HERE) to use the map.
  4. Verify appropriate zoom level is used.

Hi. Thanks for the reply. GMAPSUPP.IMG already in the sd card inside the Garmin folder. The 'no removable maps found' error still occurs everytime I tried to set maps via Tools > Manage My Data > Map Sets. It just stuck there.

On the navi menu, 'no map' is displayed. How can I load the MFM map? Thanks.

If GMXT is unable to verify there is any installed map, you would get this error message. So check that GMAPSUPP.IMG is correctly named (and also it's using correct extension) and placed in \Garmin folder of data card. Additionally you can use GMapTool to verify content of the IMG file. You might also want to install GMXT basemap and by doing so, you'll be able to make sure the correct \Garmin folder is used.

Ouch. Somehow I corrupted my memory card again. In the process of clean install now. Hopefully GMXT will work nicely after this.

update : Somehow I got an error 'file not supported' for the GMXT sis files. I have reset the phone before installing. I downloaded all the Garmin files from the given links in this site. What happened actually?

update #2: finally Garmin works beautifully. My el-cheapo memory card is the culprit. Thanks again for the help.

there's a guide for installing GMXT to your hp at the library section. Fairly easy to do as I just installed GMXT into three 5800 today.
