Hi all,
I want to upgrade my phone firmware, but I have already install garmin.

Question: can I install back garmin software without purchasing garmin.

What must I do. My phone HTC Diamond 2

Thank you.

I have changed the latest ROM and I see no problem to Garmin which I installed earlier. I fear that if the application can not be returned

Just tick the "Large Icons" during the map installation.

Garmin MXT resides in your SDCard, and should work even if u transfer the SDCard to another phone (WM6). Upon firmware install, remove and replace back the SDCard, it normally would detect Garmin and prompts u to install.

Another method is I would create a shortcut to the Garmin executable file and use that shortcut to launch Garmin.

precsmo wrote:the lag is due to the processing power of the phone and the poor efficiency of windows mobile. It has been quite a frustrating issue with my old HTC Touch HD. But, the HTC HD2 that I'm using is absolutely awesome with Garmin, browsing menus in Garmin is pretty instant, unlike the delays of every clicks in the menu. Also, browsing map is very very very much faster than the forever waiting older windows mobile phone!

Ditto on this. I am now on HD2 and find that the lag, even in 3D mode is pretty low. The map settings is "no polygons or lite version" and customized for GMXT. I use to use it Full customization for Mapsource, and it lags more.

dont really understand your 'cnt detect satelite n hang when i drag d map'

gps lag on mobile phones is common.. why? simple..

on mobile phones, garmin do not communicate directly to the gps module on ur phone.. but rather communicate with the phone's OS.. the OS then communicate with GPS module.. and vice versa.. thus resulting on delay or lag.. comparing with dedicated units like nuvi..

of course the lag depends on ur available memory, and processor of ur phone.. also dont forget.. ur phone is doing many things in the background and not just running ur garmin app..

for nuvi, there is no lag (or there is.. bt not noticeable) because.. the navigation program IS the OS..

Hi RM1.

Thank you for explaining even a little bit late, I have finished upgrading to the latest ROM, I found it did not affect the application of Garmin. However thank you again. =D>
