HTC Touch HD

Postby gadgets64 » Sun Aug 01, 2010 11:14 pm

hello,

i just successfully install garmin mobile xt inside my HTC Touch HD with wm 6.5..

The huge problem that i facing is when i open the garmin application, it always can't detect any gps signal even i wait more than 5 minutes and more.

I even change the external gps settin >> hardware com >> from com 0 to com 9.
still doesn't change anything..??? just back few days after searching from forum by forum, most people that using wm phone, used an additional software to support the garmin mobile xt which called GPSProxy. But, for those who used GPSProxy, they used GarminQue..?

After read these topic, i start question myself what are garmin que..?? and what are GPSProxy..??? what is the different GPSProxy and GPSProxy 2.2c..?? which is the most suitable for my phone " HTC touch HD"..?? how do i install it..?? how do i make it work..?? and ect...

Garmin Que is the older Garmin mobile navigation software which was originally meant to work with a Garmin GPS receiver. As a workaround using GPSProxy bypasses the requirement for Garmin-only receiver. GPSProxy v2.2c is basically the modified version, more info here: http://www.malsingmaps.com/wiki/index.p ... y_versions However, a downside to using Garmin Que is it does not support NT or NT-like maps such as the current version of MFM map.

As for GMXT, since the purchased full version allows connection to a non-Garmin receiver, GPSProxy is not needed.
I take everything in moderation, including moderation.

Do you have the right voice files residing in your SD card ? ie ...Cantonese__.vpm, Hakka__.vpm, etc

Use ActiveSync to check.

If there, then rename the cantonese to any of any of the existing voice files you are not using.

When you next startup GMXT, select this name and you will get Cantonese as your voice.

For your info, GMXT will not support cantonese.vpm

in order to use Cantonese voice delete your existing English.vpm and rename Cantonese.vpm to English.vpm it will be able to speak Cantonese.

Please do not delete... just rename it. You never know when you'll need it as storage space for 1Mb is very cheap... :) spend it.
