For the navigation option (Route Preference), currently in my 1460 there is listed Off Road, Faster Time, Shorter Distance. According to the features under Ecoroute, there should be an extra option called "Less Fuel". I don't see it in the 1460. Do any of you experience this or do any of you have the extra option called "Less Fuel"?

hi all,
i'm a beginner and just got our Garmin nuvi 1460.

Upon receiving 1460, i have done with the following actions;

1. Replaced the MAP\gmapsupp.img with MFM latest map (95,856KB dated 28 Aug 2010). The default 1460 comes with MSM map, which I prefer MFM's map.
2. I have also downloaded MFM POI into POI folder.
3. Then I go to Tools > Settings > Map > Info
I disable Malsingmaps Malaysia/Singapore/Brunei NT 2010.20

I have so far no issue at all going on road. Map is good and directions are very clear.

I have a few questions here;
1. I didn't see any Junction View (I have seen plenty of them at my iPhone Papago M6), how to get the latest Junction View file?
2. How about Lane Assist? Does MFM support Lane Assist?
3. How can I use multiple maps?

Appreciate if can help me on the 3 questions above. Thanks again.

For Q1 and Q2: mfm Garmin maps do not have Junction View or Lane Assist.

Your Nuvi1xxx series is able to read multiple IMG map files in \Map folder either in Nuvi or data card, and it does not have to follow strict naming like with previous models. However for maps that share similar region, make sure that only 1 mapset is enabled at Map Info.

Garmin 1460 comes with MSM map ver 2010.20

I downloaded latest MFM ver 100830 and replaced the original gmapsupp.img

What will happen since now I have 2 sets of same map loaded? (1 MSM & 1 MFM).

Just curious, appreciate if you can help to give me some clue. Thx

The preloaded map is saved at Nuvi:\.system folder and you should not replace this map manually.

If you have replaced the IMG, the previous IMG is overwritten with the new IMG. There is no problem installing both MFM and MSM maps but the IMGs need to be renamed differently.
