For Nuvi, find nearest POI to desired destination.

If not, go to location on Nuvi, touch screen and save it as POI. Then go to run mode and navigate to the POI that you just saved.

Bro 2gunslinger, in GPS navigation, a "route" is usually defined as a series of two or more waypoints. To follow such a route, the GPS user navigates to the nearest waypoint, then to the next one in turn until the destination is reached.

So if the waypoint ( POI ) is not present, how would the GPS know where to go ](*,)

You can always choose an existing waypoint that is closest to your desired destination and route to there. :-'

your nav sw should do it on its own as long as you've set it to look for and use your internal gps instead of using say, BT or AGPS.
