Anyway, whether or not to continue to contribute to MSM or MFM is up to individual, for those still in doubt, just look back when you are still a newbie, where you learn all those tricks about gps? You have work all your way up to be an enthusiast and mostly value contributors, i think to be fair, your place of birth still need you.

Seems to me that all these problems started when MSM decided to lock its maps. I had forgotten but now remember that I had a little tiff and exchanges with some senior members of MSM back then. I was not against the locking of maps per se but I was against the locking of maps forever, the last unlocked map stated to be June 2007 only. I thought in time to come, MSM would become completely irrelevant to most people as there will be no free open map or the last open map would be so outdated that it is useless.

Anyway, without much explanation (at least I did not read about it), it seems that MSM reversed its position on this issue because it subsequently released unlocked versions of Feb 2008 and now Hari Raya edition. That is good enough for me. I can see the benefit of making available maps that are outdated enough to incentivise members to contribute so as to get the latest, yet useful enough for people to want to come to this website to get them, and keep up the reputation and fame of MSM.

So this "split" saddens me. It's like one of those famous pop groups e.g. ABBA, Spice Girls. Together, they were formidable. But the individual parts are never quite as good as the team.

I would encourage everyone here to support and contribute to both sites. Its' the least we can do to keep things going. This is a strange world. You never know what is going to happen. One day, everybody may be back together again.

If there is a GG, it would be under MFM banner, I suppose. And of course, it will be announced in this Forum. How about those brothers in MSM who did not aware of this new set up, will miss the opportunity to meet up with all the sifus.
Or another GG will be organised and announced for MSM in the MSM Forum ?
