Even v2.80 is available, I stick with v2.70.
In v2.80, it same as v2.60 & v2.50, there are no STOP button when do 1-sec track log :frus:

I need STOP button. I believe who love tracking still with v2.70.
How about you?

Hi

I went back to firmware V2.60 which did not have the new "What 1 sec track you want.. .gpx or .bin etc" as found in v2.70. I did not update to v2.70 and went straight to v2.80. Now my machine does not have the choice of 1 sec .gpx or .bin feature.... Can anyone tell me if update from v2.70 to v2.80, is this still there or they have erased the feature altogether??

Frankly, I am OK with the STOP button not being on the screen when 1 sec tracking is on... I find that it is still there but you have to go to the diagnostic page to off it just as when you on it. When I want it to be on for a long trip, I find it actually useful 'cos I cannot accidentally off it by touching the screen.... my 2 cents worth...

Thanks

seriously i dun know what is the 1-sec track log, and nvr use it.

but upgraded to v2.80, i must say excellent in terms of performance up to now.
and i think they solve the prob of the usb cable....

last time need to on the 1460 first, then plug in cable then it will go to the usb mode in pc...now no need already, when the 1460 is not on, plug in usb cable, it will auto switch to usb mode in pc.

No lah, no need to turn-on 1st. My v2.70 and previous version can enter usb mode regardless Nuvi 1460 is in off or on mode.

You might want to use this feature to record 'untracked' tracks in the future, and submit it to the forum. In that way, the mfm maps would grow in size. By 1-second, it means that points along the tracks are logged at 1 second (1 Hz) intervals. Go ahead and try....

I am still on v2.40 which does not limit the track length and has the STOP button. As Bro Zamad mentioned, you will need the 1-sec tracking feature to record tracks of untracked areas and submit to make MFM maps better otherwise you remain as a passenger while it is a lot more exciting to be a driver sometimes.

Moral of the story, if your GPS is functioning well and you are happy, DO NOT UPDATE unless the update offers your features that you currently do not have.

I tested the v2.70 it merely presents a different user interface for Ecoroute and does not enhance the way I use my GPS so I reverted back to v2.40 which is so far the best for me.

With v2.40, plugging in the USB cable while the GPS is OFF, I get immediate PC mode. With v2.70, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't so to save time I have to boot up the GPS first.

when navigating, the POI icon is not seen. but while browsing the map, all the POI icons can be seen. is it normal or some kind of problem with 1460? i'm using 200w with no problem displaying the POI...

Garmin 1460 and GPX Track

Postby dongdong » Tue Feb 15, 2011 10:39 am

Hi all

I have downloaded a GPX track and wonder if there is way to upload the GPX track to Garmin 1460, and make it routable, so that I can travel along the waypoints?

Load to mapsource, create POI along route ( ie.. A=Start .... X=End ... A, B, C, D...X etc... ) and then transfer to device. Navigate from POI to POI

Thanks for the suggestion.

I remember if the old model of Nuvis eg 660, I can export the whole route to the Garmin device and follow the route using Mapsource, is this option available for 1460? Or POI is the only way to go?
