Bro duke17, go for it. The size and physical design of it is amazing which is a huge step up from my old 765

Most of the issues are fixed.

POI still not showing but that is with CGS version maps. Not a big deal to me as important thing is it gets me to where I want to go.

Love it for its instant use availability ( it goes to sleep mode, like a PDA ). Info / usability available at moments notice, something lacking with the older models

The voice command is a huge improvement. I had concerns about how well this feature would work as this is not a new feature by Garmin as some of their older Nuvis had this technology which was a failure. Surprise it is a big improvement as I can now navigate to some place, add stops or phone someone without ever having to pull over or take my hands off the wheel. But take note that this works only reasonably well in the confines of a car compartment. Outside, with environmental noise, it is not as good.

I also notice that the 3790 picks slightly different routes vs the 765 I am used to. I assume this is the nuRoute / traffic in action.

With new firmware V2.5, Garmin added ERP avodance / contact function / calendar function / Media Player ( MP3)

Any improvement on the autozoom feature? Users still can't switch off the autozoom for this model. I wonder if it still zooms to a scale that is not useful for driving, like some of the other nuvis.

I'm glad to receive confirmation and with the subtle assistance from brudder SB and the active involvement from brudder Jeff, in the purchase on my behalf, the 3790T(with SGP/MY & Thai maps ) last weekend.
I look forward to using it upon arrival at Jeffs place (1st pit stop) after pulling away from Changi Terminal in local Rental car.

This way, I can leave my 1490TV (with Euro maps) behind and use this new model whenever in S.E. Asia. Decided to order online as well, the special new design clip-on sunshade for the 3790T that is exported from South Korea.
Will be hot & very sunny by late Spring in Asia... am now looking forward to the trip.

The zoom does not bother me. So far vs the old 765, no complains from me. The zoom stops at a comfortable read magnfication for navigation,

U R right brudder, I was aware of the "special" screen and its slight default dim background Garmin gave it but nevertheless, subject to the angle and location against the windscreen, it still poses a distracting hindrance during night driving. Ordered already and its shipped to Spore and I took the liberty to order another two to add to the 650 and 775 as well.
