Since you are new to this forum, you should start browsing through the Library and Newbie Lounge. There you can find lots of info and tips on how to get started.

I bought R6600 a week ago. The GPS connection, as compared with my other device Z880, is few times slower; for some strange reason. To get a fix on GPS could take more than 10 minutes. I guess it's due to the fact that there are too many features running in the background: TMC, Bluetooh, Voice Command, Video Playback and Music.... Slooooooooow......

try to hard reset your GPS to Clear the NMEA cached..

in my case it's caused by new GPS chipset (sirf Atlas IV) that is not as sensitive as old one (sirf Atlas III).
version IV is more efficient energy for powered but not as TTL sensitive as version III.
Locking satelite is not related by that rich multimedia feature you said, but related by chipset itself.
