Still no luck. I removed the polygons and even use the default setting during the MFM map generation. I then renamed the file to MFM110314.img. I inserted the SD card into the unit and disabled all the Garmin map files. But still, I do not see the tracks appearing on the screen.

When MFM installer dialog box for creating the Garmin Map appears, make sure every box is tic ( see picture )
I have been doing this since I bought the 3790T and figure out the optimum settings for it to show on the Nuvi
Should work on your set.

What firmware are you on ? Mine is 2.5

Worse case try disable the 3D Topo Terrain Map "APACDEM MS2.00" at map info and see if the roads show.

Bro SB,

Finally managed to generate the MFM map in the 3790. Thanks for your patience. Will enjoy having all 3 maps on the unit. Just realised that I cannot generate the MFM topo together with the MFM map. This is no problem as the unit has a very good shading of the topography of the land so this is really an improvement. The MFM map looked really good on the 3790. I can still see the polygons but in a very nice faded way so that the roads are the main highlights. This should be what drivers need while driving. In fact, I can also see the 3D renditions of the buildings with the MFM map. This is really cool. The POI icons will only appear near the vicinity of your "car" instead of appearing everywhere. This is very nice as the map is then not flooded with the POI icon all the time. The same for the road names. Only the names of the roads nearby will appear on the screen instead of all the names.

No regrets getting the 3790 as the MFM map is still compatible with the unit. Now, there are 3 Sg/My maps. How to get lost??

:good: in figuring and sharing what was wrong

Enjoy your new toy.

The best new feature I like about the 3790T is the sleep mode with approximately 5 days standby. This means instant bootup so the Nuvi is accessible anytime for checking of address / POI location etc... coupled with its size, it is a walking street directory for me

This is yet another great trivia to note which is essentially a meaningful feature during travels abroad and having only the dashboard/screen docking with me. This means, for anyone sharing a similar travel holiday mode, this is indeed helpful to bear to overcome extra hardware taken along just to have it charged up outside the car and in the hotel room for example. Thanks brudder SB for sharing this tip too. Five days on standby is a great relief and more than adequate.

I normally set my nuvi to show the trip log. For the 3790, I noticed that when I am not routing to any destination in particular, I noticed that the trip log tracks would sometime show and sometimes not show. Today, I noticed that the trip log would show on the screen. However, halfway through my journey, the trip log just disappeared. Not sure why. My old trusty nuvi 205W does not suffer the problem. The trip log is always there.

Has anyone had the same problem?

Bro SB,

I was having full signal on an open road. The trip log seemed to be intermittent. For some trips, it is there but for others, the tracks do not appear. Will monitor again.
