I almost purchased it while in the UK last week. I decided to withdraw that need.

Although my car type & model from the year was approved, it is not as easy as shown despite some innovations made which will see the need to have a cut-out somewhere right next and close to the "cable-link" where it should be located.

My car model will provide some discomfort with this added to where it should be located with the knee and that of the fuse terminals too... pfff, :frus:

I was almost all intensified in having this installed but when I recollect my behavioral pattern in driving or cruising if you will, this may only prove as a cute novelty to have installed but not a real "genius" to have on board 2B honest. Saved myself €99 instead. \:D/ :thumbsup:

Review of 3790
I just spent a good while reading & very much in appreciation on the feedback kindly contributed by Sam Penrod.

My current opinion as part observation to what he mentioned is given in bold orange after every point he gave.

- Cannot turn off the beep when you touch the screen {It may be irritating for some but when I am the cruiser behind the wheel, I decide and with a weebit pekak on the ears, I welcome every audio sound as confirmation to my actions. Passenger(s) just have to stay muted on this ... boh pian leh :-$ }

- Waypoints don't always show up on map-- inconsistencies with what is shown, depending on map scale {I have the 1490TV and this is shown without fail. So, its good to be backed up with the 1490 series if you already have you are about to rid it, DON'T!! [-X }

- Cannot pan the map and then select a location to navigate to without going to "browse map" Then you have select a street, can't navigate to empty space on map. {I have the 1490TV and this feature is sustain which again is an added bonus. So again, its good to be backed up with the 1490 series should you already have and if you plan to rid it, DON'T!! [-X }

- Some features have been scaled back, (customize data fields)-- in apparent attempt by Garmin to simplify use for the average consumer {I can't agree more esp. when I'm just that person myself that loath all the clutter on the screen. :-? }

- Satellite page is difficult to access-- pressing signal strength meter in upper left hand corner can take time to activate and is inconsistent {I hope this will soon be resolved with the next firmware upgrade. }

- Cannot load your own geotagged photos-- (even those tagged with the Garmin 550) can only add photos from using Garmin Connect Photos (all nuvis affected by this) {Perhaps abit cumbersome but to date, I really didn't bother much on utilizing this feature since I personally fear the processor may or will be compromised and thats the least I want to experience in reaching my destination with the least flaws and aggro to confront with let alone fuming with a unit that "hangs" for several kilometers.... :frus: }

- Garmin has cut out features such as MP3 player, audio jack, etc. I liked having it built into my GPS. Now I have to have a separate MP3 for music. {I have since done away listening to any uploaded music in my 20GB TomTom internal memory and besides, I don't even listen to any while being a pedestrian as I also loath having headphone wires trickling down from either side of my ears in public. Safety and serious focus while still relax during cruising does achieve equal pleasure without stress behind the rudderrrrR.... :evil: }

- Carrying case is not included in package, but can be purchased for $20. It does help to protect your unit from scratches. {I have my own recent gift my wife bought me while sipping Starbucks and she sped off on kaki, shopping at a nearby leather bags booth on a UK highway Service point for this>>> man's leather notebook bag secures two GPS nicely snugged inside this soft Italian leather notebook bag so, no extra need for a single separate protective cover and as for the scratches, perhaps a ZAGG screen shield would be the answer. But since brudder SB informed me about its weak sensitivity as well as what I gather from Sam's feedback, I'll skip the extra need to do so, so long as no Durian odor is involved :lol: [-X }

Bro Cruiser, I had my trusty eTrex HCx backing it up. Although it is not touchscreen and not meant for car navigation, but I am generally happy with it for years. It it faster in route calculation and seems does things the way I wanted.

Googled a similar problem in a CNET review - the "breadcrumbs" that occasionally disappear from the screen.
