huh? all i said was, read the full manual - isn't that what it means?

Bro ultrafure88, my advise to you is if you want to transmit a message, do it in full vs using a dual meaning ACRONYM which "could" lead to misunderstanding. :tq:

Like most mobile devices today, it supports microSDHC cards so I guess you could go up to 32GB, but in practice, most people don't even need a tenth of that for their GPS unit.

thank you and appreciated. hope not asking a silly question as in my case my car has a SD card reader that actually reads up to 8GB only. fitted a 16GB wasnt possible.

Dear All,

I am thinking to change my Nuvi 1490T to this model. Can it view the lovely POIs? I am asking this because my 1490T is not able to do so. Regret of selling my 255W long time ago...

Replies are appreciated...thank you and have a good day to all MFMers.

I have just bought the 2465. Problems: if I use the c/w MSM maps, then the directions are not reliable and the pronounciation of road names are horrible to the point of being almost unintelligible. When I switch to the mfm map, at certain points all the roads, polygons disappear, but the sound is fine. Is there a solution to this or do I have to live with it?

Anyone else encounter these problems and found a solution?

Tks.

Exclude the polygon when you generate gmapsupp.img.

I experienced the same thing. With the MSM map, I was asked to turn but there was nowhere to turn. When you get to a roundabout it is a nightmare: doesn't know where to exit! This happened more than a few times. Most annoying is the pronunciation of road names. It goes into the "exorcist" mode, i.e. seems like the GPS device is possessed by some malevolent spirit.

I wonder why Garmin has a contract with MSM to supply the map when it obviously not suitable for Malaysia. #-o

Am a very satisfied user. There are many MSM versions out there, some give hiccups.

But essentially Garmin chips and its navigation software are robust after so many years of fine tuning. You get errors when signals get blocked and accuracy runs wild so expect that if there are lots of tall buildings around. Remember that you are always the one in charge and not the GPS guiding you. Use 'Daniel' for voice which is optimize for Malaysian and Singapore names.

Agree... road names pronunciation is HORRIBLE... Try changing the setting - use English (without road name). Tried that & it works fine for me as Garmin would only say "250m Turn Left" etc. No more irritating street names...

I have similar problem... the entire Seremban "old town" & Seremban 2 disappeared. Other parts, Senawang etc, appear to be ok.

Will try excluding the "polygon" as suggested by the Sifu...

Final comments - MSM really sucks!

MFM rocks! :rox: :peace:
:tq: :good:
