Excluding the polygons don't help. What I have discovered is that if you zoom in and out, you'll get back the map. But you have no way to know when the map is going to disappear when you are driving, so zooming in and out might be a bit risky.
Agreed on the lock in speed - very fast indeed, within 5-10 seconds, and complete road address and coordinates given.

sounds dangerous having to mess with the gps while driving (illegal btw)!
guess i will hold off getting this until i know there is a solution for the disappearing maps since i prefer mfm maps

U try exclude the polygon & tick custom when generated the gmapsupp maps.
Don't choose full.
I think it can solve the problem. My friends use 3790 also have this problem. After tick exclude polygon & custom. The problem is solve. Maybe 2465 is same.
Re: Garmin Nuvi 2465
I have started to face a problem with my 2465.
It shut down on me 3 days ago and I had to hold the power button for about 10 seconds for it to start again. For the past two days, it had shut down and restarted immediately on its own. Other than that, the unit operates fine.
The software is up to date according to Garmin. Should I bring it back to the service centre?

Re: Garmin Nuvi 2465
I had a few instances of sudden shutdown-restarts. This happened when I was searching POIs using Voice Command. Looks like there are a few glitches yet on this 2465, but it's intermittent.
I also found a few quirks with the Voice Command-Find by Name feature. A major one is it only recognises "Caltex" if I pronounce it "Call-Tex".
I wish there were these features:
But overall I am happy with its performance. Its Time-to-Satellite-Lock is ridiculously fast; beats my Android phone hands down, and I thought my phone was pretty quick already.

- Ability to search by spelling aloud.

Re: Garmin Nuvi 2465
Anyone knows how to change font type in nuvi 2465? Papago font can be changed and it looks nicer. Wish, could do the same to garmin. Any clue? Thanks.

Do not think Garmin provides this user flexibility

This appears to be inherent with Nuvis, even with the 2xx series...
