When Samsung announced upgrade their Galaxy S to Android 2.2 (Froyo) last year, all SGS users clapped their hands.
Recently, rumor suggested Samsung Singapore is likely further upgrading it to 2.3.x (Gingerbread) soon, users are now longing/waiting anxiously for it to happen.
I was an early adopter of Windows smartphone Papago X5 software. Have to purchase a new X5 license for Android because Maction has no option for users to switch a purchased license fto another phone (or O/S platform).
Maction is now offering all registered/license navigation software to be upgraded to use the latest X8 format map.
I am welcoming this standardization move - hope this is an on-going strategy (but doubted).
I really have no clue why so many people are not supportive for this move?
Is it because their Papago navigation software (with the PND) are not eligible for the upgrade (unlicensed)?
Look at it positively, newer software definitely performs better.
You can't just stay behind forever with your current version.
Think of ways to overcome it......
p.s. I am an genuine Papago user and have no relation to Maction, M3Asia and/or any companies selling Papago products

Re: MFM-Papago Map 110601 Feedback
Hi All,
Unfortunately, this update does not work on my PND.
Version: M3GPS X5
Model: Wayway Q4301
Problem: When attempting to do a map switch, the newly installed map does not appear as one of the options.
Installed to folder at computer: TFAT (E): MobileNavigator: Maps
Other maps that are installed to this folder have no problems detecting them.
Also tried the other method by installing the .exe file into my computer, subsequently copied and pasted the folder "MFM-PPG-110601S" into the device at computer: TFAT (E): MobileNavigator: Maps.
Both methods showed that 27 files were established in the device, but unfortunately the OS failed to detect the files while attempting to do a map switch.
Any guru that can enlighten me?
Many thanks!

Well, I think you've chosen the wrong download. For M3GPS X5, you should have choosen MFM-PPPG-110601C, not the one with the letter S at the end. It should work fine. Good luck.

Many thanks ezzat.
U are right, I downloaded the wrong version. Now it has worked for me. Thanks for the tip.
Cheers!
A point to note, I realised that this map's version does not allow me to perform "road search" using postal code.
Previously, I was using the '100415' version, and that allowed me to do so.
Am I missing some steps that could rectify this?

Maction will stop provide support older version papago navigation software X3,X5,X6, Reality 7 & oem.
So MFM will stops compile papago maps for Papago X3,X5,X6, Reality 7 & oem after 31 Ogos 2011.
Only compile maps for papago x8
Papago Device user can update to papago x8 software through authorized papago dealer.
Now how about the wayway device user? Also can upgrade to papago x8?
How about the other Device have original Papago license?
How about the android phone user already buy original papago license?
This is my main concern actually... I am using Holux 62F purchased from EastGear, what is going to happen to my device now?

No worry. I received an email from Eastgear calling all users of Holux 61, 62E/F, 62 Pro and 6210 to upgrade our software to Galactio V 8.5. All Galactio v8 owners gets free upgrades while other has to pay. I have written to Eastgear and awaiting their response.
I've seen the Galactio interface and its seriously slow compared to Papago... Any way to upgrade to the new Papago X8 instead of Galactio V8.5? I don't mind paying if necessary.

that day on 28.05.2011 i was in Ipoh trying my way back to Penang...there was one mistake in the voice navigation.
it was telling me to turn right while the yellow arrow was actually pointing to turn left...
i dont know which lane to take but i was too late when i took to the right before noticing the signboard stating the highway back to penang was actually to the left.
the first attempt to turn into the highway was also turned out a failure for me...
I have the same problem as well. Good thing I know my direction. This not the only one. PPG keep asking me to keep right and immediately at the junction ask me to turn left at Jalan 24/26, Wangsa Maju/Jalan Setiawangsa junction.
