just compare the china make with garmin make ( left is Garmin, right is china make )
Left garmin right china.JPG
make sure the ribbon position is same as your original 1 ( if not you have buy a wrong model )
after you have remove the LCD screen just reverse the process to install back, your are done
all of the above only cost me RM88 only
if you are not confident to replace the LCD by your self you can send it to garmin that cost Rm450 and take 1 month to repair. now i can enjoy my nuvi
ps the lcd is a bit defact with 1 green line, call the seller they agree to replace
thanks for sharing with us this useful tips.
as it so happened, i sent my 255W to aeco to replace the screen for me (frankly even though you gave excellent guide on how to DIY screen replacement i wasn't that confident of winging it on my own). they did a good job. however they didn't take a month to replace the screen. it was a few days because i asked them to take their time and to do a thorough check-up on my unit after replacement. very good service by aeco staff.
however i can't vouch or comment if a member's unit is sent to aeco via a third party reseller (authorised or otherwise).
just want to share my experience.
have a great day and week ahead.
