How to instal .img map to your Device

Salam,

I need help guys....

im travelling to The US next month. i've a copy of US Map given to me from a fren. it's a .img file.

I tried putting the file into my SD card and change the name to gmapsupp.img, when i inserted the card to my Garmin 205w, it seems like garmin couldnt recognize it.

Pls help. thanks

Did you put the gmapsupp.img file in the SD card/Garmin folder?

i tried putting the file into Garmin folder in the device's memory and also putting the file in a SDcard. Both dont work, it says, "Cant unlock maps"

Aah! The map given by your friend to you is 'locked' to his PND and therefore not useable on your device.

can, to unlock you must visit to www.garmin.com and pay the license to get unlock key.

in other word you must pay to garmin.
