if your pnd is wince6.0 with 128mb of ram, you will have the option to upgrade to ver8.5 .
if your pnd is wince5.0 with 64mb of ram, go garmin. no support to ver8.5 .

anyway there will be not much changes on the roads.
i still find iGo 05-06-09 singapore good.

Now mfm is only allowed to compile for the X8 version for monthly release. Can we get Maction to allow us to at least release the 'old' X5 version on a quarterly basis? At least members can still update the latest map albeit on a slightly longer interval.

Sorry but was there an agreement somewhere, where MFM is controlled by Maction...just wondering?! If Maction wants to do this, then everyone just let go of their product and go to Garmin.. let Maction die off ! Now Maction is making a fool out of them for recommending their products !

Its time to uninstall my Papago X5 for windows mobile. Fortunately GMXT is hanging on.....

Not sure if they can provide an upgrade for X5 running on Windows Mobile, if not can we request to replace with X8 for another platform?

I have been following up this Papago software/Map unifying project since it started.
Simply asking our fellow members to staying away from Papago is not a perfect solution as this will cost our frenz extra money for new gadgets.
Papago is now restricting mfm to only produce X8 format map.
The objective for Papago, I believe, is to shut away any non genuine users and gadgets to boost revenue.
More than 6 weeks down the road, we still see a lot of unhappy genuine Papago customers voicing out that they do not know the future of the appliances or software products they have purchased.
To this regard, is mfm warrant to lodge complaint to CASE at country level on behalf of members pushing Papago for a clear viable solution/plan?
If Papago can impose restrictions to mfm on maps they can compile, IMHO, mfm can also has the option to take it or leave it.
If mfm is simply accepting the imposed restrictions by Papago, IMHO, mfm is conflicting at least the following forum motto
- MFM should be given total control over the release of our maps in any platform

I think it is about time for mfm to tell Papago to go away unless mfm can see a viable plan from Papago to address concerns from our members and other genuine customers.
It will be very interesting to see/know what will happen if mfm stops compiling and distributing Papago X8 format map.

I hope we're once bitten twice shy. Remember they discontinue to support PAPAGOx2 and force us to make sure our units are x3 and onwards. Now they're forcing us to abandon x3/x5/x7 to upgrade to x8. MACTION knows very well that some of old version can't be upgraded. My 2DIN is beyond imagination and I won't be dreaming for upgrade.

My guess here is that MFM is been on loan for the compiler. So looks like MACTION is taking back current compiler and been given x8 compiler only. If that is the case, members should advise others NOT TO PURCHASE ANY PAPAGO UNIT. We've responsibility to do on this.

If they think x8 is hack proof/crack proof maybe they're wrong. Soon or later the software will get hacked... please la MACTION pitty of the other customer who dump the money to buy original software.. this not about to save thier products from cracker/hacker but more to profit without thinking other ppl lost..

My opinion is that we shouldn't plea as MACTION should know how to discharge his responsibility towards customers. Let's wait for answer as no point keep barking. It's becoming very interesting to see how MFM/MACTION response. REMEMBER: Every move has its consequences.
