Bro Zamad,

Good job... :good:

1. JCT-Green Lane_Tmn Greenview-a is a single 'one-way' lane. At the traffic light you either turn left or right. [ <RL> ]
Correct
2. JCT-Green Lane_Tmn Greenview-b allows only through pass at the junction. 3 go-straight-only lanes. [ ^; ^; ^ ]
Correct
3. JCT-Green Lane_Tmn Greenview-c: left-most lane goes left (probably voice will say "bear left") and the 2 other lanes go straight. [ \L; ^; ^ ]
Correct

Observations:
1. Junction POI is located on the road leading to the junction, but not at the junction itself.
Good observation. The POIs are placed on the road leading into the junction for clarity

2. At the junction, you cannot route into Jalan Taman Greenwood from Green Lane, because it is a 'one-way', i.e. No-Entry from Green Lane.
You're right, the section near the traffic lights on Jln Taman Greenview is a one way street

Let find time to write a guide to standardize the codes and symbols.

:tq:

This is an example of a simple crossroad junction in Penang at N5.43167 E100.31183:
PTikusJCT LA Example.png

All four roads leading to the junction, which in this case I have labelled "Jct-01" have the same lane directions:

    [Jct-01] t,<L^; t,R>; f,^

PTikusJCT LA Example.gdb

Each lane I have put a "t," or an "f," to indicate whether the lane is going towards the junction or away from it.

Yikes, getting complex...

This makes sense too. One Junction POI on each 'road' taking into account of the contra-flow too.

Other than junction/crossroads, I wonder if LA can cope with interchanges, like the one found in Puchong. There's two like this in Puchong.

At the moment, with my very limited knowledge, this is a nightmare. :ko:

But I encourage you fellas to press on..

The one shown by Bro moeyhc requires Junction View and precise Lane Assist. :-'

Bro All,
Thank you for all the ideas and feedback. Now, can I retire?... :ko:

Let's take a step back... for Lane Assist we are talking of driving into a Junction hence, the opposite side traffic flow is not relevant. The GPS LA indicator will only show how the Lanes are configured for traffic to flow ahead and our submission should indicate these data. Unless the GPS LA can display the 'Away' sign I suggest we exclude this data. All roads going away from a junction is most likely to be ^; ^; ^;.... right? If there are any immediate turning/s after the junction we will treat it as a new JCT LA.

As for the example given by bro zamad can we treat every 'Branch' of roads as a new JCT LA? Hence, entering into such interchange will have multiple LA display along the driving path. If we cramp too much information into a single screen the driver may not comprehend it at all... worst case he endanger himself trying to read and decipher while driving. A prompt display of data on screen when needed should be our target. Let's make safety our priority.

Questions:

1) Should the Lane Data be place in the GDB Comment (moeyhc) or Name field (tympg)?
2) We need a master GDB file to track all the done JCT LAs. Who will compile this data and release for members to check before they go out to gather LA data?
3) Can we hold a small GG to talk this over?

Have a great weekend... Cheers! :tq:

Isn't it faster if MFM were to use LA data from Garmin CN?

You've missed the point here. While it might be faster to use readily available data, nothing is more fun than to collect them yourselves. That is how the mfm map grew.... and grew... \:D/

I do see your point and it is also more accurate if the LA data were sourced locally.

What I meant was we could use LA data from Garmin CN temporarily until a particular area has been covered by MFM :)

I'm mostly available on weekends only. Other than the 'when', we've got to decide the 'where'.
