I drove from Shah Alam to PJ this morning to take the 2575 for a ride, and planned to run the camera on the way back, and had the unit charged via the cradle. After a while, all of a sudden the unit shut down. I stopped to switch it back on. Then on the return leg, when I wanted to run the camera, the message 'Please connect power cable...' appeared. It has now appeared that after that earlier shut down, the 2575 had been running on its own juice.

This is what I did:
1. While in the car, I re-inserted/re-adjusted the charger... it did not charge the 2575.
2. I then plugged the mini-usb connector to my 205W... and it charged. Therefore the ciggy charging cable was not the cause.
3. I changed charger with the micro-usb connector, and plugged direct to the 2575. It could charge the unit.
4. When I got home, I tried charging using the AC charger. It did not charge.
5. I changed to the second (spare, new) cradle and tried charging using the AC charger. It did not charge. The cradles were not the cause too.

So I concluded that charging via the cradle is no longer possible. It could be that the charging circuitry through the bottom 13 (yikes!) pins of the 2575 has been damaged. Today, it has crashed twice. Once this morning in PJ, and just now in Sg Buloh.

I will have to send this item back to AECO for a replacement.

When you set-up, can you confirm this for me? Does the battery indicator on the 2575 show 'charging' when you plug in the 240VAC-miniUSB to the cradle?

I've tried using the 'spare' cradle but the result was the same... not charging.
I need to know, because now I cannot run the camera. Message says: 'Please connect power cable which output is 2A to start driving recorder'. BTW, If I plug direct to the 2575 using the microUSB, it will charge.

I have a bad feeling....

sorry lambat reply..
mine ok no prob with the charging (charging indicator ada)
try navigate to kajang got problem with video recording.. hang and sometime goes dark
and than when to rawang from puchong.. video recording mode ok pulak
just realise that JCV pop up to early.. sometimes from 1.5km to junction and need by pass 2 or 3 juction beforre the real exit (garmin mfm map issue maybe.. this also happen in my 255w)

in video recording mode and tv mode still can hear voice navigation
trip planner
kereta tak boleh letak kat tempat lain (when GPS off mode)
i prefer my old 255w in trip planner (easy and simple)

Not able to try this except for doing recording only, before it broke With the (gratis) microSD card, it could store about 80 mins of (default setting) avi files, in chunks of 256MB.
My favourite placement of the PND is at the bottom-right of the windscreen, just above the dashboard. Unfortunately, for the 2575, with its camera attached, this is one of the worst possible location. Why? If your windscreen is dirty in front of the camera lens, even the wiper cannot reach it. I might want to DIY a mount so that the camera sits at the rear view mirror + extension usb to the PND.

Old 205W doesn't have trip planner. Did planning on MapSource.
