Nuvi 55LM "Voice Alerts"

Hi all GPS master,

I just bought nuvi 55 LM last week previously im used nuvi 205w. Looking for help as i already copy and paste the POI (MFM C-POI 20140831) into Garmin 55lm. im noticed no voice alert speaking sound when reach either the speed limit area , AES camera area, junction area or sharp bend area. There's no voice sounds alert at all but only continuously "tung" tung"tung" sound with screen alert. Normally speed limit , sharp bend or junction area will alert with voice sound. exp: "alert, sharp bend ahead or alert, junction ahead" Any nuvi 55 LM user or others latest garmin GPS user experience this? Im try to search any topic related to this. Thanks in advance for the help.

Finding: Probably older Garmin devices had MP3 players built in so voice alerts could be .mp3 files. HOWEVER, most newer models do not have a MP3 player so .wav files are required for "Voice Alerts". hmmmm

i also just gotten the 55LM yesterday.. first time GPS user

this model is pretty new in the market i suppose..

wanna try to load the POIs for speed camera and red light cam..

which should i use and how to upload? need SG version.. is it to locate my version for the garmin map inside and find a matching POI version?

then how about the sounds like what TS mentioned?

By the way speed camera, red light cam and all the POI areas no more voice alert, just only screen alert with POI distance located area and only sound alert.
The problem are we can't and hard to differentiate the speed trap and AES area. Petty sad wonder if malfreemaps admin POI generator can include .wav into GPI file like did it previously. Probably it can help.

is this limited to newer models only?

i believe so. New version of software with android base. I think that remove off some license voice feature to cost down. Any help and who should i get advice.

Hi guys, I too have been trying to find a solution on this issue.
Was thinking that the mp3 was an issue, I've convert them to wav but still only tings. No voice alert.
I've also notice alot of white ballons which i believe are icon that are not found in the unit. Does anyone have this issues as well ?

I have a new 55LM and faced the same problem. White balloons and no alerts. Anyone can help or advise ?
