I followed the step-by-step procedure written at http://www.malfreemaps.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=1151&start=20 by you but once I click on Ok on updater.exe. The pop-up message is "New update not available for this product". My GPS unit is Nuvi200, sw version = ver3.8 and HWID = 0660. May i know what happened?

Hi Bro Ahyan77,
Did you delete the file GUPDATE.GCD from the \Garmin folder in your GPS?
Yes, I delete the file before updating
Which updater.exe did you click on? Was it the one you unzipped from the downloaded file fw_nuvi2xx_id0660_en_v500+tracklog.rar?
Yes. I download the rar file based on my HWID
Which method did you use to get into the Pre-boot Mode?
I used diagnostic method after first and second methods were unsuccessful.I click on battery icon for about 10 seconds and then plug usb cable to GPS unit and connect to PC. Click on updater.exe and then click on but "no available update for this product "message still appearing. As what you said, i have no problem to use my GPs just that I cannot unlock my hidden tracking function only
From your post, you actually don't have a problem with your GPS. You just failed to do the patching of your FW that's all. Please give me the answers to the above questions and I shall try to help you do a successful patching.

You are in luck. My Russian friend decided to sleep with one eye watching the PC so I just got a reply from him.
His first suspicion is sometimes the GarminDevice.xml file may not state the HWID correctly. To check that he suggested the following steps:
1. Google in the internet for g7towin utility
2. Download and unpack it
3. Run and select in properties - usb connection.
4. Put GPS in Diagnostic (Service) Mode (touching battery icon for 10 sec) then attach it to your PC
5. Run application command - from menu 'gps' - > get gps id'
You will get a message about communication error and some info about ID. That will confirm what your actual HWID is.
Next use the Webupdater to update your FW to Garmin's latest and tell us what it is after updating.
Then we will be able to advise you further.
