jwschow wrote:my feedback on the Kerinchi Link speed trap...the speed trap is (i believe) for traffic from Mont Kiara, Hartamas, etc. towards PJ, Bangsar, etc...however as i was driving on the Sprint from TTDI heading towards KL, i got a 80km speed trap warning

Thanks for the feedback, brother Julian.

I examined the Kerinchi Link waypoint (using MFM v1.44) and it seems that the road name on MFM has changed since I first released the cPOI. I'm guessing that this made it into a TourGuide style POI instead of a bi-directional proximity POI. That is why you received that false alert on the Sprint highway.

It's either that or the road that the speed trap waypoint is placed on isn't a "Garmin recognized road", which turns it into a TourGuide POI. I can fix this, but if the mappers keep on changing the mapped road names, false alerts will occur in the future. :frus:

Not yet for MFM. As it is, I'm working on some experimental tour guide POIs for Peninsular Malaysia in my free time. I hope to release those cPOIs for SG by next month. :peace:

Sungai Dua highway in butterworth the speed limit is only 90km/h #-o not 110km/h no wonder I never heard the alert anymore it meant i still drive within the limit, please check this else even if you slow down according to the alert before you knowing it you will still get the summon. ](*,)

I did experiment by changing the icon's background color so that it shows up as a "transparent" magenta color, but it looked worse than the original white background. #-o

I found out that the magenta color looks OK in the day display setting in my Nuvi 310, but looked fuzzy in the night display mode. (Or was it the other way round?) :-k

However, the best I can do is to make the icons smaller, if its present size looks too big. :)

suggestion to used custom sound that announce the speed limit.

Like if you approach a POI with the speed limit of 110km/h.Instead of making noise,it should say "ding! ding! 110km/h".That way it will reduce the needs to look at the gps to know the speed limit.

stratman2 wrote:b. Some speed trap waypoints that do not have the speed limit in the comments field are assumed as follows:

- 110km/h on interstate expressways (e.g PLUS, ECE)
- 80 km/h on city expressways
- 90 km/h on trunk roads

Plus Highway from Ayer Keroh Exit to Alor Gajah Exit is 90km/h
Plus Highway from Bangi Exit to Sungai Besi Toll Plaza is 90km/h
