Once malaysia and sing are one name malaya = malayafreemap = MFM

A = Asia (And)
S = Singapore
Free = Free laaa :mrgreen:
Maps = Peta laaa :lol:

Suggestion Call: Malaysia And Singapore Free Maps or Malaysia Asian Singapore Free Maps

where "G" can be.... GPS..... Garmin.... Global....

we might want to venture to countries outside Malaysia & Singapore for mapping.... (MISSION & VISSION)..

1) MAPSEA - Map for South East Asia or more(vision also)
2) MSG or MalSinGPS


Also for the map version, is it clearer to incorporate purpose and date ?

i.e.. aabbMMYY -

aa : can be the final MalFreeMap Name, or simply 1 alphabet etc,
bb : usage

eg.
MGM0908 - MF map for use in GarMin
MMK0209 - MF map for MapKing format
MMS0113 - MF map for MapSource program


And if there is major amendment on released map just add suffix to it, MGM0908a

(find the current Gold, nonGold confusing to newbies), just some suggestions

Guys, I think we carry on with this domain name first....get our organization and maps in order first...then decide whether we have greater ambition :mrgreen: ...then only we register a new appropriate domain name.

I have changed the forum name Malaysia & Singapore Free Maps. To me it doesn't matter if we use the initial MFM or MSFM. For our banner and logo, please follow the new forum name. TQ

One word that is common in both Malaysia and Singapore is "Jalan". Is there a way we can incorporate this to give it a very local flavour unique to Malaysia, Singapore (and of course Indonesia). After all, it can mean Street and can mean Go which is what we people to do with their GPSrs right? Now with GPS, everyone can Jalan :thumbsup:
