tsechien wrote:As bro waypoint pointed out : A solar panel charger with a built in battery like this one that comes with a mini USB head works well with the Oregon (much better than the charger of the original auto nav kit!). You can USB charge the thing using a laptop / PC on rainy days.

This one costs a whopping total of RM49.00 :)
Search for it at lelong.com.my

Highly recommended.

Select the Satellite Tool from the Main Menu. Press and hold the upper left corner of the Satellite Tool page for 5 seconds and the Oregon will display a diagnostic screen. There is a button at the bottom of the diagnostic screen that will allow you to page through various display test screens. You will need to power off and back on to exit diagnostic mode.

A second set of diagnostic screens is available through the Trip Computer. Press and hold the lower right corner of the Trip Computer. The brings up a page of most recent exceptions, tapping the trap exceptions seems to give a register dump. The bottom of the screen gives some memory utilization statistics. Tapping the lower right of the screen cycles through what appears to pages of tasks and memory utilization.

has been very proud of my Oregon giving +/- 2m accuracy (based on what it display). Today bring my Oregon for walk-walk at Bukit Timah Nature Reserve. as usual turn on tracklog.
Bukit Timah.jpg

it is a 8.4km walk :ko: and just downloaded the track, trying to compare how accurate it is. my rough comparison with google map at certain pt can be ~ 15-20m away !! so I am quite lost and disappointed. I am pretty sure that most of the time Oregon reported < 5m tolerence ... you can load the tracklog attached and compare using mapedit

Not sure if you guys notice anything on Oregon accuracy as indeed it is quite difficult to get a good reference pt for comparison. what your comments?
