Sorry, blackout.
For the JV resolution, I'm not sure
I think should be 480x270 Pixel.
For what your see junction view of Sing/Mal,
The word of the sideboard indication is not clear,
i think that it's because the actual JV picture resolution is 480x270 Pixel,
after the picture deflation, so the word became narrow.
refer to picture below,
I think if not wrong, for the Nuvi series 7x5, when press the JV picture, it will enlarge to full screen.

I must say that the hybrid looks like a good compromise. The other factor to consider is that the junction view (whether photo or hybrid) can quickly help drivers to instantly assist to recognise the junctions and make a decision in split seconds without clutter of traffic or other objects. Realistic photo, hybrid or graphics, which can do the job better ?

Some examples from other forum (just for knowledge).

Re: MFM Junction Vew
Agree, Visio has its limitations. Did a full test last night and it came up bottom. Corel or Illustrator looks promising. Both are not that difficult to work with and master unless you are looking on doing multiple layering and other facny stuff.
One way to cut down the image size is to reduce the total colour used. Doing high contrast correction on the raster image can help. Another option is to apply filters eg Watercolour effect from photoshop.
Based on the screen resolution of Navi's I don't think it can take in that much Mbyts of display. The Navi 5000 has a display size of 800 x 480 = 384Kbytes max and most wide screen Navi use 480 x 272 = 130k5 Kbytes. That will be about the max size to work with assuming the image is displayed full screen.
I guess the next step is to work out some rules as to how we want to collect and convert the pictures.

Dont worry about pixel just yet. Take big mega pixels picture, it will make much easier when editing and tracing for those hybrid junction images.
