Hi Stanley,

Welcome and thanks for offering MFM the opportunity to release Mapking Virtual maps. There will be 2 issues which we will like to change from our previous agreement and I will be contacting Mr Mok tomorrow to convey these issues officially.

1. MFM maps should not be locked or tied to other maps such as Mapking maps. MFM maps should be FREE (no payment required) and FREE (no condition attached)

2. MFM should be given total control over the release of our maps in any platform. Mapking will only be granted consent to re-distribute map created by MFM using Mapking's proprietary compiler. Mapking should not re-release MFM-Mapking map that works in other platforms such as PDA or smartphone by modifying existing MFM-Mapking map. If Mapking requires maps that work on other platforms, MFM requests the tools to do so and will release the same maps here for FREE.

Looking forward to a successful partnership with Mapking :D

I hope to see more support issues being address here in MY. There are just many mapking customers and companies in MY, left stranded (if I may say!).

I had met with Stanley and conveyed to him our requests for full control over our map release. He agrees in principle but informed me he needed further discussions with his management and technical team. We look forward to a positive reply from Mapking.

Topic locked until further notice.

A reminder of MFM's request from Mapking
Quote:

Still awaiting Mapking's reply :-'

p.s. Sorry we are not as "cooperative" as MSM

A final report on this proposal for proper closure and clarification.

Bro edchuang, 76gpsguy and me met with the top management of Mapking at IOI Mall sometime during end of May 2009. He demo'ed to us the latest Mapking Virtual. During the meeting, I reiterated our conditions for cooperation i.e. free & open maps + MFM compile and release maps by ourselves. Mr Stanley Ng told us that he would check with his engineers before giving us a reply. That were his final words on this subject.

I have not received any reply up to now. I now consider this case closed. Thus,

MFM will not produce any map for Mapking
