any tips hot to join merge lakes and city park/forest in a proper way?
It would be great if we have a poly section in this forum due to increasing number of mapedit users here....

To have a polygon node stick better to another polygons' node, make sure
- Stick to Neighbours is enabled
- there are at least 2 levels:
- Level 0=24 bits, zoom=0
- Level 1=22, 21 or 20 bits, zoom=0 or 1

You can also use the Subtract Polygon method, example below:
First draw a Lake polygon:
Then draw a City Park polygon
Hold down the Ctrl Key to also select the Lake polygon

Cool thanks!

Re: MFM polygon project
(Continued from above...)
Right-click and choose Subtract Polygons
Et voilà! The City Park polygon wraps around the Lake polygon neatly

Will the common edges of the 2 polygons be separated after compile to img file? Can we consider setting the polygon draw priority in such the way that the lake polygon is on top of City Park?tympg wrote:You also use the Subtract Polygon method, example below:

When you use the subtract method the two polygons are no longer overlapping at all. They share a common edge/border. One could be even completely within another. Both polygons will show regardless of polygon draw priority.
If we want lake polygon to draw on city park, we have to be sure that in all (or almost all cases) we want lake polygon to be on top of city park. In this case, I think that might well be true. For the exception, we can use the subtract method when in the rare case of wanting an island city park to be on top of a lake polygon.

Re: Polygon Drawing Discussion
Really wanted to start polygon drawing after reading all the forums and posts in Mapping Guideline & Standards Discussion. Anyone have extra license for mapedit want to sell? If yes, please let me know so that I can start to learn polygon drawing immediately.
