Nuvi 765T Part 2

I just got my Nuvi 765T EU model for £229 last week. :-) Currently using it around EU countries but will be using in Malaysia as well.

Welcome to the 7x5 club. Hope you will enjoy the device as much as we do. Primary I am using MFM maps because it is more complete and better than Garmin's and other's.


Last night, I found an interesting thing. My 755T (TWN SW), can display junction view from Garmin SGMY CN 4.02 with MFM v1.58 map, but still cannot view the picture lah ... Here are the steps..

1) Select Garmin MSM OR SGMY NT map only
2) Find a destination where you think there will be a JCV in the way, press GO and lets the nuvi do the routing suggestion
3) De-select the Garmin's map
4) Select MFM map
5) Check the next coming junction, and you can see Lane Assist button is enabled and still there

I think, nuvi only use the JCV during the routing suggestion. I don't know whether this is a bug or feature, but nice... Ooo the JCVs will disappear when recalculation with MFM map.

What you are seeing is Lane Assist feature. JCV does not work for our maps as not incorporated yet that is why you do not see the picture/graphics. Only the turn/lane assist.

Lane Assist / Junction View works only when routing.

Here is the proof and steps in screenshot; I used the older Garmin MSM 2009.3 map for more realism

The Lane Assist which I mentioned is refering to the button on the next corner screen. Yes, MFM still cannot shows the Lane Assist arrows during navigation.

Next .. Change the map to MFM
Check the the next corner, and yes, the map changed, notice the differences with the above picture. The Lane Assist button still enable.d

JCV is bound to be cracked eventually. :-)

I thought that the JCVs are only for Singapore in 2009.3 but version 2009.3B includes Pg,KL,Johore and Singapore?

Please correct me if I am wrong


Btw I can view the JCV but it will show a black screen because of my EU firmware. I need to change it to TWN to view it properly.

Yes, I am using Garmin MSM 2009.3 (not the B). And the simulation was done in Singapore . , 2009.3 only have Singpore's JCVs. My nuvi still cannot display the latest garmin maps, due to encryption. And, with this exercise, I can assume that JCV only being used during routing. How to trigger the JCV is still the mystery.

I heard 765 local version launching next pc show .......was wonder any way to get the firmware

Yup, and hoping it is based on 765 TWN. I really like the TWN firmware.
