Re: Custom POI download - Police Speed Traps (v3.5)

Probably has been asked in so many posts before.. but couldn't find a specific answer. Anybody regularly using Kepong <-> Taman Melati via MRR2? Just wondering, how to reduce the speed alert on my Nuvi 350. I've set it to alert once, but it kept repeating at these two places .. 1) near Taman Metropolitan Kepong 2) after Sri Gombak toward Melati .. the same alerts keep repeating so many times and I couldn't do nothing to reduce the alert .. right now, I need to switch off the proximity alert option so that I could concentrate on my driving while using that route.

Hi,

Your Nuvi will always alert you periodically when these two conditions are met:

1. You are within the 1km proximity radius of the speed trap waypoint.
2. You are driving exceeding the threshold speed of the waypoint.

Garmin designed speed dependent custom POIs to help you keep track of your vehicle's speed without having to monitor your speedometer so that you don't get fined in speed enforced stretches. If your vehicle is equipped with a cruise control system, just set your vehicle's speed so that it will not exceed the limit for that stretch.

O:)
cheers,

hi startman2,

Thanks .. will try to drive a bit slower next time and see if it still does the same thing :) My first time having a nuvi which turns on when I started my engine .. so, probably I need to either 1) slow down < 80 on that stretch or 2) switch it off .. hee..hee.. but hey, who drives 80kmh on MRR2 when the road is clear? :-'

Point 1 & Point 2 should be combined to Points 3 since we will get alert on both direction and these are the same speed trap under the bridge. And the speed limit is 80km/h not 70km/h. :tq: for update.

Speed trap alert "90km/h" but that area speed limit 80km/h

Brother hattaZ,

I understand you're a newbie submitting the various cPOI coordinates, but can you please, please use the Grid format Lat/Lon hddd.ddddd degrees with the WGS84 datum standard? :prayer: :prayer: :prayer:

You can change your Mapsource preferences to change the grid format setting. It's under Edit->Preferences->Position.

Thanks for your understanding.

Thanks bro to correct me. I already change all the cPOI coodinates for your action. Sorry....Sorry....Sorry....

total newbie here, dunno how to check coordinate some more..hehe..

anyway when driving from Sg Buloh Rest Area up to Rawang Guthrie exit, 2 speed alerts 80km/h came up but the road was 6 lanes dual carriageway (complete upgrade) so it should be 110km/h already but no signboards were there to confirm.

cannot help any further, hope somebody can understand and update properly, just giving layman input here, sorry :prayer:
