I have just finished installing Garmin XT (v5.00.50) into my Nokia N97 which is using S60v5.
However, the software do not seems very stable on this device. GMXT has crashed twice (shut by itself) so far while testing. Maybe due to the memory needed while rotating screen from portrait to landscape.
Tested it for navigation and is working fine.

Initial impression is that Garmin has made some addition of touch screen buttons in this v5.00.50 because the N97 is without the soft keys which most of the Nseries have (eg N95 8gb).

I have also tried loading in the earlier version of GMXT into the N97. GPSr can work but because of the lack of softkeys, i can't quit the program.

I tried both portrait mode and landscape mode on the N97. Both mode are usable.
In portrait mode, part of the road name display might be cut off. (See pics below)
In Landscape mode, the road name is displayed properly but the map will not utilise the phone full width.

I have taken some screen shot for clearer reference.

The start up page.

Due to the program i used to take the screen shots, its UNABLE to show pictures properly in landscape mode.
The shots DID NOT turn out as what i see on my N97 screen. The map still looks good in both mode.

Just to show how it turn out in both mode.

Just found out that the 3D viewing mode does not work well with Landscape mode on the N97.
'North-up' and 'track-up' is OK in Landscape mode.

landscape is a known problem for gmxt in s60v5 touch screen phones such as 5800 and n97.

i will not advise you to use it in landscape mode.
