Make sure that your routing preference is set under Routing Options.

After routing you can click Alternative to see three possible routes.

Yeah I agree the routing can be improved to what we see in the more stable Garmin platforms.

Using the MFM 090616 map which seems to have more 3D building and junction view then the SLA map. Happy with the 3D building and love the junction view which appears on every expressway junction.
However, like to report below issues;
1. Speed limit of road not on navigation screen. SLA map has it.
2. Toll avoidance not working. I was navigating from Woodlands to IMM, selected toll avoidance, it still direct me to go from BKE to PIE which pass the BKE toll near to PIE exit. Going via KJE would have avoided the toll.

I'm using GPSmile 62 with Papago x2
Even the SLA map does not give a proper route sometimes. I'm going from Yishun to Suntec. The most direct route would be CTE all the way to Havelock Rd. Exit. Instead, the software recommended to exit Balestier road. Don't know whether this is the shortest path though. Maybe it's the Papago routing logic instead of maps.

On another side note, using MFM map, is it possible to show HDB Block Number while navigating or Map View mode?
Garmin etrex Legend C, 10x + Garmin Mobile xt.
Holux 236, M1000 + Garmin Que & Mapking.
Holux 62Pro + Papago X2.

Netrider, I am not able to see the HDB block number on MFM map.
Btw, on SLA map, do you see the petrol station icon (like esso, shell, etc..) on the navigation screen? I see it on MFM map but not on SLA map.

I have no idea about the route settings for GPSmile 62 since I don't own one so I can't comment much on the route suggestion.

However, exit from Balestier road is actually a much more shorter and straight forward route as compared to existing from Havelock road :)

That's what I thought as well. Just that I never use that route. Will try it out one of these days.
My impression is that by CTE all the way will be easier as it bypass most of the traffic light.

Using the SLA map, I can see the petrol station icon, however, not all petrol station is indicated. I believe this is a matter of updating/customized the POI icon.
I believe this thread is for feedback of MFM map. Hope it's ok with the folks here if we interject a bit of discussion with SLA map.

Going by Balestier road will hit you with around 5 to 6 traffic light junctions in total and maybe a little jam around Lavander area (but usually clear up pretty fast). :)

MFM Papago standard map feedback

Postby artful » Thu Jun 18, 2009 6:55 pm

To Antyong,
Here are few comment for few day testing...for MFM Papago standard map...

Comment:
1. 3D building still won't show.
2. For JCV i can see different type MFM & Papago....great...almost better/complete than original Papago Map. (keep it up)
3. Tol booth announce sometime it will not annouce at some tol...this i will feedback at Papago topic.
4. Malaysia highway symbol compare to original Papago map, MFM is more... :peace:
5. Announce of underpass, flyover, bridge and tunnel in KL; so far i think this only support Z880 not announce at Z820
6. POI search still not complete...maybe due to this version is for custom map. Whenever you search POI only show you few. eg.
- Petrol ~ only show few petrol station. More worst is KL no petrol station found.
- Parking area ~ search in KL area, For Papago map it show 20 pages, For MFM map it show 10 pages.
- Shopping POI logo still not shown at Z820 POI search.
- Schools ~ not all show logo.
7. Address search so far so good...
8. Just found out that MFM map still doesn't support East Malaysia & Brunei yet.
9. Routing test so far so good....FYI recalculating route is damn fast maybe due to the 3D building not shown. Compare papago map.

Cheers

As what I have mention in previous posting, travel at NKVE from Bukit Raja Klang to exit at Damansara. As you can see from the video, each time it comes to an exit, eg. Shah Alam, & Elite exit, it will anounce "Stay in the left lane". At the indicator on the left, I still have 8km++ to reach Damansara exit.

Bro bUGG,
Try to use English TTS, or others voice for the moment. You won't have this problem anymore. The standard English voice has problems and already feedback to Antyong.

*To note: English TTS voice is MALE voice. :x But better than wrong voice prompt at the moment.

If you still have problem using voice prompt others than the standard english voice, as antyong said, most properly your software is not updated.

Thanks, I have try it out. The voice languange "English TTS" works!!! As you mention, I don't like male voice, and it sounded very funny each time it pronounce the road name. Hope Papago can get the lady voice fix.
