My trip to "Roof Of The World"

Postby alyem » Fri Jun 19, 2009 1:26 pm

Last month I was in Tibet, Lhasa 11 May-17 May.
Flying with AIR CHINA (which we have to stop at BEIJING for transit)

Leaving KLIA to Beijing on 11 May at 2340hrs - arrived at Beijing 12 May 0600hrs.
But only to get out from the plane at 0800, Two hours after touch down this was due to Swine Flu (H1N1) suspect on the same flight. :fire: :finga:

Have to run for the next connect flight to Cendu at 0900 - arrive in Lhasa at 1440.

What a long flight.......... :ko: but that not Tibet yet.... :frus: :frus:

From Lhasa airport to Tibet Hotel.... another 1hours 30 minutes. by bus over the bummpy and winding road..

One whole day.............. :fire: :fire: :ko: :ko:

Picture tell the story...

On my way to Tibet....

:good: brudder Yem... and :tq: for those aerial snaps of the silvery coated-looking hilly regions. They looked magnificent!!!

That 1st snap of yr person appeared with an uncanny resemblance of brudder Sum "Endura" which confused me a little... #-o
They serve curry up there too? Sure looks sumptuous and we were planning to visit Tibet too but the Visa restriction just prior to the Olympics made us switched to Beijing & Shanghai as a result.
It's my wife's wish as well and we hope to travel that route someday and treat ourselves a good 7 weeks or more for that region and its large surroundings of simple lifestyle still existing.

Thank you for sharing your pics, it brought Tibet closer to appreciate the increasing desire towards that plateau.... \:D/
