yup. tried that too in dos. i.e. DEL, and RD. but still can't force to delete. when you say format, is it just a matter of like formatting any flash drive? in addition, can you remember when you first found out about this? I think I saw this appear during my early days of experimenting with trying to get 1s tracks. just can't remember when though. and every now and then I get weird files too - file names in different characters apart from the ones in the english alphabet.

Suggestion : fsck (filesystem check). Or in Windows, Right click at the drive -> Properties -> Tools -> Error checking...
If it does not interrupting the nuvi, just leave it. Oo... Antivirus?

Guys,
Any particular reason why :-k Garmin Taiwan removed 2.70 firmware update for 7x5 and put back the older 2.60 version here at their download section: http://www.garmin.com.tw/products/Nuvi7 ... wnload.htm

Nope, I can see and download the v2.70 :).. Try clear your browser's caches :)

No changes in the file content, compared to which I downloaded 17 days ago :).

Alamak #-o ... you are right la bros, I got 2.60 version using pc in the office, but its 2.70 at home... hmmm thot it was removed for some reason... regret for the false alarm. Thank you  hehehe

(BTW bro silverbeauty, saw your posting in the other forum replying to a question there... I am using a friction mount as well, so for the benefits of other members here who are using 7xx/friction mount, the noise that comes out from nuvi occasionally when mounted, is actually coming out from the speaker at the back which is touching/too close with the "connector". Try loosen the connector/cable at the back of your nuvi a bit, and the noise will be gone... )
