Thanks for the encouragement.

It alway helps to prepare yourself to face the worst when attempting anything new. I'm sure I'll get it working again when the new battery is here. Do you want to start a battery replacement service in Penang? There are plenty of >3 years old GPS here that need the service soon.... Cheers!

More pictures of the battery....

The battery is secure to the rear casing using double sided tape... :frus: ... it's a sticky problem...

Thanks Bro Jag, then I do not need the procedure. Just wondering if the 600 and 300 series are identical to remove.

I think for 600 series, battery should have higher capacity to compensate for the larger current consumption. Well have to open to find out. ](*,)

That battery for the Nuvi looks similar in size and voltage to the Nokia BLB-3 Lithium-Ion battery with a rating of 3.7V, 700mA. But then the current is just half of the Nuvi original one. :-'

A good place to hunt down batteries is Unicell@SLS #02-70 & 02-41. www.unicell.com.sg

Bro gpssin, do you still have Bro Jag's old battery ? Maybe you could find it at Unicell. They stock all sorts of batteries for gadgets.

Bro SB,

The 6xx series uses 3.7V@1500mAh Li-Ion Polymer battery. You can buy them on-line... do a search. If you are opening up your 610 can you take some pictures and compile a procedure for us to enjoy too?... Thanks a lot.

p/s:- I just found a ham radio Li-Ion Polymer battery that fits the size... will try to swap the smart charger tomorrow. BTW, if you scxxx up your 610... I have just opened the MFM Junkyard Store... I already have one customer... coming soon?...

Cheers!

Bro Moey, my 610 is still kicking .. just waiting for the time the "bucket" gets in the way ... then it is time for the surgery ... till then when time comes, will inform you whether the horse lived or died :ko:
