I think so. you can format it like format your thumbdrive, just right click of your mouse onto the Storage drive, select "Format", 2 type of format, one is quick format or normal format.
format your nuvi internal storage memory would not caused your nuvi unable to switch on. because the Nuvi's firmware store inside the ROM. format nuvi storage memory will erased all the file from the Nuvi internal storage memory, So the Map file/Voice file/Gpi file....so on will be deleted. So before you format it, you do backup all your file from the internal storage memory.

Hi,

Tried the 5.3 for a short while in my 205W. The satellite lock problem seemed to be the same so downgraded the software back to 5.0. Now I can get 11 satellites.

:tq: for Useful information =D> =D> =D> .
I always thought, format Nuvi disk will be erased System file likely as format PC harddisk, Window OS will be erased.
Now I know my thought is wrong.
Well done and sharing this information :peace:

Actually i doubt for quite sometimes, about 1 or 2 days, before proceed to do so. However, i just bear in mind that, never try, never know. And before doing so, i proceed to backup all the files first, I would said that i play safe a bit, haha :)

Best of all is that the pre-loaded maps that comes with the PI set inside are still usable!

Visit http://nuvi255wfirmware.blogspot.com to flash your 255W / 265W garmin nuvi to sg/my firmware so that you are able to use the junction view features & MSM maps!

Lets Stop being the carrot head and being chop by the blood sucker local distributor!
Which their service are not even worth the $$ and talk about!
