Re: Thailand Maps Development
Hi South Thailand mappers,
Please refer to the first post for reference to your boundaries and coastline. I had also allocated adjacent provinces for you to expand to when you run out of source material for you main province. Please let me know if you do not want to map another province.
I will post rough GE offsets, obtained by referencing other Thai maps, later for your reference. Happy mapping
Comments appreciated.

Re: Thailand Maps Development
Dear Thailand mappers, it is essential that you get the GE offset correct before trying to draw. You can only get the right offset with tracklogs or by referencing other maps. If you are not sure of the GE offset in your area, please PM me. Don't rush into starting, please.

Please note my comments on GE shift HERE.
From what I see in Phuket, no single GE shift can be applied to even a small area like the island. I recorded different shifts for different intersections and hence track logs are imperative for alignment.

Re: Thailand Maps Development
I would not panic over the offsets but handle it with caution and most important experience.
There are may factors that will cause track accuracy eg satelite signel strength is one big problem. In a nutshell multiple track logs are needed to confirm the "right" track to choose.
I have seen straight road I was tracking suddely shows a couple of meters drift
on the track log because of signel strength dropping from 4 to 6 meters and then popping back again when the signal strength goes back to 4 meters.
The fact that we do not constantly moniter the signal strength and a whole other lots of issues, I would not take track logs as absolute.
I would use track logs merely as a guide line. To make use of multiple souce for reference (and don't copy
) would be my recommended option. Unless you are local and can get golden tracks.
Have fun!
