Hi... Have you manage to get any of the maps to work on your China GPS yet?

I'm considering to buy a China GPS, that's why started looking if there're free compatible maps I can use... and stumbled upon this forum.

I have tested a few and all run illegit navigation softwares, and my verdict, you'd be better off using the most basic Garmin, ie. Nuvi205 rather than these China PNDs, seriously.

Currently the only useable navigation software albeit illegit, is GMXT. While Papago X2 Std has issues with routings (note: nothing to do with MFM Papago map).

When running GMXT, even when using Garmin compiled map, the lag is quite noticeable especially in urbanized areas. I think this is mainly due to low processor and memory available (and remember the Windoze CE OS  ).

And furthermore, there's the quality aspect to be taken into consideration, ie. low backlight screen, flimsy windscreen holder, etc.

Yup, its like "too many cooks spoil the soup" with this Chinese GPS option...

They could just as well sell a car saying its a Rolls Royce but no engine in it until all is paid up & the buyer discovers...., :frus: its a Rip-off and even when an engine is ordered from abroad, it won't fit into it for reasons that the bonnet space is one big empty hole for dumping space.... like garbage for the better word! :tease:
