HAI BRO... I GOT NEW PROBLEM. I CAN'T UPDATE MFM V 173. I USE NUVI 255. BEFORE THIS NO PROBLEM. THIS TIME I USE
MFM V1.71.

What is the problem ? If we don't know what problem you face we can't help you.

hello apa susah-susah...just generate gmapsupp.img file from installer and copy direct into your garmin folder in nuvi drive or sd card...even small boy can do

I dah generate gmapsupp.img file from installer . i already follow step bt step for install. but still can't update .before this no problem...

Hi.. I'm 1st time here. Been using 205w for quite sometime until I saw my friend using the MFM. Today I installed mine. Nice presentation. BUT no audio. It says there audio not compatible. Plse help me to rectify this..
-I deleted all files in the 205w internal memory.
-After that I installed the MFM in the computer and then copy the gmapsupp.img into the Garmin folder internal memory.

P/s: Problem fixed. I copy back all the original files. Then replaced only the old gmapsupp.img file with the new one. Hope anyone else who encounter same problem can try this...

just bought nuvi 255 installed with MFM v1.64.Tried to update with 1.73 but i ended up losing all MFM map.Unable to open MFM map.

Not sure where is the proper place to ask this qn so I double post here as well. If inappropriate, mod pls move it.

It seems whether I select Full Customisation (Recommended for Mapsource display) or Original Roads (For Streetpilots & Nuvis & MobileXT) don't make any difference to the number of files or file sizes in the MFM mapsource folder.

So how do I make my own lite version of this map using Mapsource?

I want to split and join/customise maps i.e. perhaps, SG only, SG & Johor, SG & West Malaysia and use the appropriate gmapsupp.img depending on where I am at the moment. I know it's troublesome but I rather have a faster map refresh and searches in GMXT and don't mind swapping gmapsupp.img.

I'm can't use the ready made lite version either since GMapTool will not split it properly.

Or I can only create custom lite version using GMapTool by including MFMPC.typ and excluding MFMFC.typ and road poi and of course map tiles of area I don't need? By using MFMFC.typ, the map will have original roads but no polygons? But what if I want custom poi icons?

For my car pc because it can take all sort of combo I only know how to include everything but now trying to help my friend who is using GMXT (I've as well but rarely use it because it's slow when I use the same customised maps for my car pc).

Appreciate anyone taking time out to answer my qns.

dunno where or how to install to what location, drive, which file or what *^#!!T(@^ .

install mfm to its default location (C:\garmin\malfreemaps). Then, when prompt to generate "gmapsupp", answer yes, select option u like or suit your gps unit, then choose your desktop location (for easy for u find later).
After finish, connect ur hp, wait until windows recognise the drive (u must put ur phone to read your memory card only!),
copy "gmapsupp" into garmin/folder, replacing old one. done!

the instruction is a bit unclear cause i hav to jump to other page to download different item.
why cant make instrucion in single page?
